S2 36. Welcome home

- These stairs can be a problem, Venla thinks as she climbs upwards.
– Are they hard for you? Ilari feels a knot in his stomach.
– No. I was thinking of Lucky.
– Huh?
– And you claim to be a dogperson, Venla rolls her eyes. – I’m betting Lucky will find these stairs both difficult and scary.
– He can sleep in common room, Ilari thinks about it. – He’s never been allowed to bed or bedroom.
– Um. Not quite.
– Hmm?
– Lucky might have been allowed to come to bedroom and to bed when you have been away.
– What?
– Just maybe once or twice, Venla grimaces.
 - You are ruining my dog!
- Are you mad? I have just been missing you, felt lonely and wanted to cuddle, Venla looks apologethic.
– I can’t believe you did that! Ilari facepalms. – Did he slept in my place?
 - Eep?
– Right. Ok. Right. He rubs his face. - No more of that sweetie. Promise me. No more.
– Well. Lucky probably won’t come upstairs here so it’s not a problem? I guess bedroom IS here? Venla peeks in.
– Venla. Ilari’s Voice is warning.
– Ok ok. I Promise. Are you mad at me?
– No. I just don’t want to share my bed with a dog.
– I have to admit it’s been so distracting when he was in a same room and whined and complained all the time while we…
 They both chuckle.
– Yea. No more of that either. Ilari grins. – I’m the leader of pack after all, remember?
– Stop it! Venla laughs. – It was ages ago!
 – But you are now my alpha bitch. Corner of his mouth twich.
– Geez, You can be such a dork!
- And you love me for that, Ilari says with confidence.
- Yes. Yes I do, Venla hugs him.
- Who lived here before?
– Some elderly couple I think, Ilari tells Venla.
– They loved being here, she says and smiles. – I can feel they had a good life here. Loved, had good time, created good memories.
– That’s a beautiful thought. Ilari admits. - It does feels good to be here. Even better when you are here with me.
– Love you too.
Ilari smirks.
- Where are they now? Venla wonders.
- I heard they moved elsewhere.
- So they are alive?
Ilari nods.

- So? He says.
– So what?
– You like it? The house?
– Whatkind of question was that?
– What do you think?
– I love it, Venla says. – I really do. Pictures didn’t do justice to this house.
- Want to give this place another good life? New memories?
– You mean do I move in?
– Yes.
– I do, Venla hugs him.
– Well then, sweetie. Wellcome home!
– Feels funny, Venla admits. – I thought I’d agree to come here at weekends, but I can’t start the greenhouse without being here myself. I don’t trust you enough to remember to water the plants or other things that needs to be done.
– Mmhm? Ilari raises his brows. – So the greenhouse was the final nail?
– You planned this?
– Perhaps, he smiles.
- You did, didn’t you! You knew I wouldn’t say no to it if I saw it.
– You haven’t even seen the garden yet.
– You cunning piece of…
- Of what, love?
– Nggh! Howcome you can be so infuriating and lovable at same time!
– It’s a special treat.
– I don’t know should I strangle or kiss you!
– I’d prefer the latter, Ilari smirks and rubs her hand.
Venla let’s out an unusual growl.
– Let’s make this work. Ilari says after a while.
– Together, Venla says.
– Together, Ilari agrees.
