29. Virpi

Ilari collapses next to Virpi and tries to get his breath back.
– We still got it, he pants.
– Have to admit. It's always so good with you, Virpi pushes stranded hair from her face. Her choice of words send suspicion to Ilari's mind.
-Hmm?
-I’m going to take a quick shower now, Virpi dodges his remark.
– Not yet. I want you back here, Ilari graps her arm and pulls her back. – I missed this. You. You always keep me alerted. He pulls Virpi into his arms. -There. Much better.
- I've missed touching your body . Feeling it on me, Virpi replies and let's her fingers to travel across Ilari's chest. - But you should have remembered who’s the queen. Virpi reminds him.
- I never forgot.
– You leaved me for two years and hardly called at all.
– I don’t want to fight right now, Ilari grunts. – We have talked this million times. It’s military operation, not vacay.
- Still you left. Twice.
– Drop it already. Ilari's voice is warning. – You know I needed to go. You knew what I am from the day one. I'm soldier to the core. Not some manpuppet to play with. That you can't change.
-I need you to leave now, Virpi pushes herself up from bed.

-I need you to leave now, Virpi pushes Ilari up from bed.
-What?
– I have important meeting tomorrow morning and I won't go there looking like a raccoon.
– You are telling me to leave my own home cause you could be upset and cry?
 – Yes! It's a board meeting.
– Fuck your board meetings. Ilari sits up and looks where he dropped his pants. – but you're right. I need to get the dog out.
 – A what? Virpi's nostrils widen.
– A dog I saved from Iraq. Wonderful creature.
-A straydog? Virpi sounds shocked.
-Yeah?
– Yuck, she gestures with displease. – You won't bring that nasty drooling and smelling thing here.
-Ha! Ilari laughs dryly. -Should have expected that from you. He finds his pants and starts to dress. – I plan to train him into hunting.
- Isn't it enough that you deal with weapons at work. You really want to go into the woods and shoot animals?
-Not the point, Ilari says and buttons his shirt. – You just don't get it.
– Never will.
-So be it. I'll call you.
