39. Not her daughter

Jesse, Toni and Ilari spend last of Ilari's off duty week trekking. They have been talking how custom department is going to get a new drugdog and Jesse is going to be it's happy owner. A small Labrador retriever is going to come home soon.
-I can't wait for it. He says. – Though it means I have to work and babysit that puppy at the same time.
- Tell me when I can come to see it, Ilari smiles. -and talking about babysitting. I think I'm starting to warm up to the idea of being a parent.
- What what what? Toni coffs. -Wtf man? Have you met someone new?
- Maybe.
-And she's having a baby? Jesse tries to clear the situation. -You have knocked her up?
– No. She HAS a kid already, Ilari explains. – I used to think I could be a father someday, but I thought I wasn't ready for it yet. And now it feels ok. Like it should be this way. His friends look at each other. This is something new.
- Does it bother you that it's not your kid? Jesse asks. Ilari rubs his neck.
- At first it did but not anymore.
- So. It's like ready-made family then, Jesse makes his conclusion.
- Yeah. I've been thinking that a lot, Ilari says. -I'd be so much better parent than my father was. Like thousand times better.
- You’d be a great dad! Jesse gives him credit. - If you just stay and don’t go to foreign operstions again.
- Ha Ha. Very funny, Ilari isn’t amused - Though Tessa isn’t mine, but I wouldn't leave them If things turn bad. There's always some other way.
- Tanja? You are with Tanja? Toni gasps.
 - WHAT? No! Ilari turn to look stunned Toni.
- You said Tessa. Toni wants to clear this up.
 -Yeah?
– Year and half. Strawberry blond hair?
-Sounds the same? Now Ilari is completely lost.
- Tessa is Tanja's daughter, Toni explains. There’s complete silence. Only wind rustles autumn leaves.

- Dammit Syde. You thought Tessa was Venla's? Toni says after they have all thought it through.
- What makes you think I was talking about Venla? Ilari takes defensive side. His mind is buzzing like a beehive. This information turns tables.
 - You did. You really thought so! Toni looks smug.
– Like I did!
 – Ok. He's done for, Jesse laughs. - Should have guessed. You always had a thing for big bottomed blondes.
- We are just friends, Ilari tries to save his hide but gets no mercy.
- Right. ”friends”.
– Yeah. You wanted her the moment you laid your eyes on her, Jesse nods.
- No. Nothings like that, Ilari shakes his head. – She probably doesn't even know.
 – That you have decided she's yours? Toni teases.
– Come on!
- So what's happening?
– That’s what I’ve trying to figure out, Ilari says. - She's all I've ever wanted in a woman. I don't know how to say it, but feels like I never have been on so same page with anyone.
- Okay?
 - She really gets me?
- And nothings happened? Jesse sounds surprised.
- Nothing. Though I wouldn't mind some action. Ilari smirks.
- So what are you going to do?
– Finnish things with Virpi, Ilari says.
- I thought you were already done?
 -Things got complicated.
– No. No You didn't. You ended up banging her again? Toni furrows his brows and snorts. - Does she have black belt on blowjobs or why she's having you on so tight hold? She's no good for you.
– Ugh. I know. I know. Ilari makes a wry face.
- I have just one question, Toni starts.
 -Hmm?
- Wtf you are doing with Virpi anymore? You have moved on.
- That's helluva good question. Jesse agrees.
- Does Venla know about her? Toni wants to know.
- Yeah? She took care of Lucky while-- shiiiiiit. And just then Ilari realized it was very bad idea.
– Well, congrats man. You have really driven yourself into a deep end now. If I know anything about women. Toni facepalms. – I remind you, I've been married more than 10years now. You srewded this before it started.
