77. merry Christmas!

- Merry Christmas, Tessa! Venla gives first present to her goddaughter. Tessa is overjoyed of all Christmas decorations, shimmering lights and gifts when she realized what those are all about.
- You have outdone yourself this time, Tanja looks around and lowers her voice. - What's wrong? You drown yourself into pretty things, sweets and baking when you feel bad and this is excessive.
Venla bites her lip and hugs Tessa. Closeness to that little darling almost makes her cry.
- I think I lost the love of my life, she says quietly. Tanja takes a quick look at Antti who sits on the couch and then back to Venla.

- Oookay. I think I'm missing so many pieces here I'm missing the whole puzzle, Tanja says. - Who are we talking about here?
- Ilari.
- Sydänmaa? Tanja blinks. - When did you... Oh. Nevermind. Girl, we need to talk!
- Later, Venla sighs. - All the other's are coming soon and I don't want to cry before them.

Antti takes a good look at the situation and sits next to Tanja.
- Do you mind if I excuse myself for a while? He says. - My friend lives just next door and I would go there for a moment to wish him Merry Christmas.
- I don't mind, Tanja smiles to him.
- You two can talk better when I'm not here, Antti thinks and nods towards Venla. - She looks like she needs you now.

Tanja nods in agreement.
Venla is concentrated opening presents with Tessa but her thoughts are clearly somewhere else.
- I think I've been a bad friend. I've been just talking about you, us and not listening to her, Tanja feels remorse.
- Honey. Just do your magic, Antti smiles back. - I'll be back before you know it.

- Hey man. Merry Christmas!
- Ha ha, what are you wearing? Ilari’s lips are twitching.
- Hideous Christmas sweater, Antti chuckles. – Hate it, but if it makes my babe happy, so be it.
– You really hooked up with Tanja? Ilari raises his brow.
– What can I say? We're moving under same roof as soon as we find a suitable place.
 – Congratulations, Ilari says.
– Thanks. So. How’s life? Antti asks.
– Same shit as usual, Ilari shrugs.
– Really? Antti raises his brows. - Christmas eve. You are alone watching TV when others are with their loved ones. Doesn’t look ok to me.

Ilari grunts.
- I'm not alone. I have Lucky.
– I just came from your next door. There was extremely unhappy blonde who looks like she’s fighting tears all the time, Antti continues.
 Ilari frowns.
- She slept with my brother.
- And?
– So it's over.
- And?
- And what?
– She’s there all alone, Antti says. – Barely keeping it together. It’s so plain to see she’s in pain. Why don’t you clean up and go there. Talk it over?
– Didn’t you hear me? She slept with my Brother! Ilari barks.
– Do you really let that one thing take it all away?
- Huh?
– I let one fight weight too much. Ok. Tanja did something really stupid and I thought that’s it. Just to learn I couldn’t get her out of my mind. I was lucky, we managed to get back together but I know it was a longshot. Tessa isn't mine but that's the price I have to pay. Antti pauses and takes a deep breath. - Not everybody finds a good person to be with. You had it good. Don’t throw it away for one mistake. We ain’t no saints ourselves either.
Ilari frowns and is silent.
- Well. I need to get back, Antti stands up. - Think about it.
