Ilari plays with Lucky when he hears sound of crutches closing.
- You got on to your feet? He says and throws green rubber hedgehog to awaiting dog. He catches it and joyfully bites squeky sounds out of it.
- Been practising on daily basis now, Venla replies. - I want to walk again and as soon as possible. She sighs and touches Ilari's shoulder. - You have kept distance for couple of days.
- PMS and recovering from operation. You were a lot to handle. Ilari huffs.
- Umm, what?
– What what?
– How did you know? Venla blinks.
– When you have lived long enough under same roof with woman you’ll learn. Symptoms are the same with all, Ilari shrugs. - You have been hmm, quite emotional for couple of days.
– Oh.
– No need to blush. Basic biology.
- I’m not used to talk about this with guys, Venla mumbles and feels akward.
– Better learn. I don’t want to be dodging flying plates or such.
- Ha ha, would someone really do that! Venla can't help but laugh at the thought. – Oh. It was hilarious at first but seeing Ilari's face Venla realized he was serious.
- We still hardly know each other. He states.
– I’m not supposed to be menstruating monster. I've been crying a lot, but... okay. You have a point there. We should talk more.
- Mm. We should.
- We need to get out of house. Ilari says.
– Mmhm. I’m sick of being in bed, Venla thinks. Ilari rise his head a little and grins.
– You didn’t think it was so bad moments ago.
– Dumbass, Venla murmurs and plays with his armytags. – You know what I mean.
– Do I?
– I know we should try to talk more but we just end up playing rabbits everytime.
– You started it, Ilari shrugs.
– Me? Venla looks suprised.
– Yea. You are the one who started wiggling your ass on my lap.
– Oh.
– Mm. I didn’t mind it though.
– Me neither, Venla smirks.
- As much fun this is I really want to know more what’s in here, Ilari taps lightly Venla’s forehead.
- It’s confusing, Venla says. -It’s all happening so fast. This all… I’ve never done things like this with anyone and I don’t know what to think.
- I don’t follow you, Ilari looks questioning. – It’s been so vanilla for now.
– Didn’t mean sex. I never have really been in serious relationship. I’ve dated but this is so new to me.
– Really? Ilari looks suprised. - I had a feeling you haven’t lived together with anyone. You would have had a bigger bed from the start. But really, no one serious?
- Mm. Learning to sleep with other person is new to me among other things. Venla explaines. – it has been like seeing a little, sex and that’s it.
– That explaines quite a lot, Ilari ponders.
– I’m so used to be alone and spend time with myself this place feels crowded sometimes.
– You want me to leave? Ilari clearly holds his breath.
– No. It just feels weird. We never even had that going out together part. Now you are here and you look like you have settled in.
- Is it bad?
– I don’t know, Venla sighs.
- Okay. Let’s go out then? Ilari says.
- Like into movies?
– I was thinking more eating out. We have seen enough movies together and you can’t talk there. Taking a walk is out of question before you can walk again and your leg gets more strenght.
– Good points. Venla looks like she's thinking.
- Isn’t talking and learning about each other the point of dates? Ilari raises his brow.
– I thought it was checking out if you want to have sex or not, Venla mutters. It sounds so naive when said aloud and she realizes that too.
– Please. Don’t tell me you have dated some dudes with only one goal on mind?
- Um. Yes?
– Okayyy. This might get really interesting. Ilari now fully understands why Venla's sister acted the way she did towards him and why Nora told him Venla’s former dates had been sorry cases.
Ilari cares for her, more than likes her, but her inexperience in relationships could be a problem. He sees that sugar oozing literature on Venla's bookshelve, remembers her reading habits. There's a lot of growing up to be done.
