S2 23. You shut me out!

- I’m not coming.
Ilari can’t believe his ears.
- What?
- You heard me. I’m not coming with you, Venla says. Her voice is little bit too calm, too collected.
- W- why? Ilari stutters now. – I tried to find nice place for us. For you. Make a good start of life together.
Venla fists her hands so tight her knuckles turn white.
– Do you think I’m just a piece of furniture you can pack along? Just someone who can take care of your household and who to fuck when you please? Little crippled girl in middle of nowhere who can’t get away from your house?
- Um, no?
- Or some brainless bimbo who follows you blindly wherever you go? Her tone is growing more aggressive, more louder with every word.
– Whoah. Venla. You need to calm down. Ilari raises his hands.
 – Calm down?! Don’t you dare to say that! I’M NOT GOING TO FUCKING CALM DOWN! Now she snarling with full rage.
 Ilari takes a step back.
– You could have asked me in first place do I want to go with you. You just assumed I go like that! Venla snaps her fingers in front of Ilari’s eyes.
– I thought…
- You closed your life from me. You left me out.
– I, uh…
- You made me think you are going to leave me. That I’m just a placeholder till you get your new life started.
– Wait, No. No. I wouldn’t do that! What part of being permanently here you didn’t get? Now Ilari wakes up from his confusion, get irritated.
Venla stops on her track.
– What’s that?
– I told you months ago if this is up to me I’m here permanently. With you. He emphazies every word.
– That was months ago! Venla snaps back. – You didn’t know your orders then!
– You think I’m moving my lips just for fun, do you? Ilari growls.
– How can I know? Venla cries frustrated. – I need to get everything out of you with pincers! You don’t tell me what’s going on, I don’t know how you feel, where we stand and then you think I can read your mind?
Ilari grunts but doesn’t reply.
– Why would I come with you, really. You don’t trust me, you don’t talk to me, I’m just a convenient to be around.
– I do trust you. Ilari replys glumly. – It’s not so easy to talk than you think.
– You better learn! Venla shouts.
– I don’t want to go on like this. Not knowing what you think, not letting me in to your plans. Venla isn't done yet. - Do you even realize what a couple means? There’s two. Two people doing things together, sharing, compromizing. Finding a way together. Not alone, but together.
Venla pauses and her mouth fills with nasty words with her anger.
- I’m starting to get why Virpi did get fed up if you were same with her.
Ilari stiffens and pulls a stony expression into his face.
- That's totally diffirent story.
- Is it? Venla hisses.
- What do you think I do here? For you? He snaps back. - I'm not just some dude passing by who just happened to be around your surgery and just thought to take care of you in the meantime. I’ve been here for you, catch you when you literally fall and spar you when you think you can’t go anymore. Do you think it’s been all fun for me either!?
- Mm, Venla reluctantly agrees. If not for Ilari, her recovery time would have been much harder.
They stare each other with fiery expressions not wanting to say everything aloud that comes to mind when you're angry.
– I’m going to get Lucky, Ilari says between gritted teeth, walks away and leaves Venla fuming.
Venla shakes still after an hour after the fight. She’s not use to raise her voice or have this kind of fight with other than her sister. She’s so angry to Ilari for taking her granted, making her feel insecure and miserable when all this could have been avoided just by talking. Howcome it’s so big thing to open your mouth? She’s not proud of herself either how she talked to him. To calm herself she decides to take her negative feeling and shoot some zombies.

When Ilari comes back, Venla is already in bed. She wears her headset and is concentrated to blow the world out or so it seems. Ilari sits next to her and puts the palm of his hand to her lower back. She gives him a short aggressive glance. Then her attention goes back to her game. Ilari can feel Venla tense and she flinches from the touch.
– Could you put that game off? He says in calm voice.
Venla grunts and continues playing.
– I see. You are still mad. Notion makes Ilari sigh deeply. – Sweetie, please.

If his granma has taught him something it’s to reconcile your fights before nightfall.
It’s no use. Only machine gun fire and blasts from screen greets him, tell him a story of Venla’s mood.
– Fine. Be that way then. He stoods up, looks her a moment and leaves. Little later she can hear front door opening and closing.
