Venla enjoys herself and finishes her greenhouse after winter. Some plants didn't make it. Too bad. The season is about to start so this a perfect excuse to buy new ones.
Ilari left to Säkylä to sign the papers of the house and sent her new photos from the garden in it's early spring attire. Her mind races about it, plans starting to formulate and Venla wishes she could walk there herself, touch the soil, see the sunny and shadowy spots herself and see old apple trees and their condition. Ilari really hit her sweet spot with that garden.
But she still haven't made her mind about moving in.
Venla humms to herself, happily handles the flowers pots and thinks what goes where and when would be a safe time to bring little plants outdoors. There's still freezing cold at nighttime.
- I thought I would find you here, Ilari says from outside of greenhouse.
- You are back already? Venla jumps a little. For a tall man Ilari has irritating way to move very quietly - probably a soldier thing.
- Wanted to be back before nightfall, he shrugs.
- You did?
- I know you don't get to sleep easily when you are alone, Ilari says, looks inside the greenroom. - I didn't remember how tiny this was.
- Oh I can't sleep alone? Venla smiles to him. It's not her. It's him but she doesn't say it.
Ilari watches Venla to finish up. How happy she looks now when she's finally able to come outdoors and get her hands dirty. Venla kind of mentally hibernated and now she's so full of energy and life.
Seeing that makes Ilari feeling happy too. If only Venla would just make the right decision and would come with him.
- Hey, Ilari draws Venla close, pulls her in to long hug.
- Hey, Venla smiles. - Sorry it took so long. You must be drop dead tired after spending your day behind the wheel. I could take Lucky out if you want to get rest already?
- Thank you, Ilari sighs and places a soft kiss to Venla's hair. - I love you. This time it's said like he really means it.
