- Hellooooo!
- That's Tanja for sure! Venla sounds excited when they hear new people coming in and hurried steps on the stairs.Tanja and Antti said they would come later.. No one could keep up partying hard two nights in a row anymore and coming later ensured Tessa didn´t need to see so many drunken faces and odd behaviour.
- Enla! Little girl runs to Venla.
- Hey Tessa! Oh my word how you have grown! Venla looks at her godchild in awe. - it´s clearly been too long we have seen the last time! I´ve missed you so much!
- I missed you more! Tessa says cheerily and Venla grabs her into big hug.
- Hey there! Antti and Tanja come up too looking like they are dressed to different kind of party.
- Well, look at you! You have really dressed up? Ilari smiles seeing his comrade.
- I , um, we have news for you! Antti let´s big grin to spread into his face.
- Don´t tell me… Ilari tilts his head.
- We just eloped. We got married!
- And we are going to have a baby! Tanja ads to their news.
- What?
- Omg! Congratulations! Venla yells and hugs her – When it´s due?
- In April.
- Ok. Planned or ”accident”, Venla
whispers to her friends ear. She knows how Tanja acts with these kind of things.
- Little bit of both, Tanja grins.
- Married? Ilari blinks.
- With baby on the way, Antti smiles. - It felt like a right thing to do. We are a real family now and all have a same surname and all that.
- Didn´t see this coming, Ilari admits and rubs his neck.
- Wow. That was fast.
- Why wait when you have everything in right place? Antti shrugs and cast a loving look towards her newlywed wife.
Oona needs some air, sneaks to greenhouse and sees Susanna behind the corner with white and upset face.
Looks like she needed a timeout too.
- Hey, are you ok? Oona asks her
- No, Susanna says glumly.
- Do you want to be alone? Oona tries to get up with the situation.
- It´s ok. You can stay, she replies and draws a long
breath. - I just need a moment before I can go there again.
Oona leans to wall behind her.
- Want to talk about it? She says after moment of silence.
- My cousin, Susanna sighs.
- The girl that just came?
- Mm. She´s pregnant again. I should be happy for her but I just can´t.
- Uhhuh, okay?
- Do you want to have kids?
- Oh. I… yes. Oona start to get hang of whats eating her.
- We have tried for years and nothing happens. Month after month, year after year. Nothing. Tanja just drops her pills and Bam! Bun in the oven! It´s not fair!
Oona sighs.
- Tell me about it. I thought I´d already be married with a child with my ex, but… Yep. He´s my ex now and that´s about it. So much for that dream.
- I´m sorry.
- Me too. For both of us. Life really is´t fair.
- How old are you?
- Turning 28. Old cow.
Susanna laughs darkly to that.
- No you´re not. You still have time. I´m turning 34 and I can feel
my time running out. Tic toc, tic toc. Soon it´s too late.
- Howcome?
- Men can father a child with other foot in the grave but we women aren´t so lucky. It´s soon over for me.
- Don´t say so. There´s still hope, Oona tries to comfort her. - I have old parents. My mom got me when she was 43. Naturally.
- Really?
- So yeah, you have still time.
Susanna is quiet and just breaths deeply in and out. Then she raises her eyes to Oona.
- Wow. Thank you.
- You are wellcome.
- No really. I needed that. Thisconversation. Can I hug you?
- Of course!
They hug for a long time
- I can´t go in when I just want to push Tanja down the stairs. I need to cool down first. Susanna confesses and Oona sniggers.
- Let´s stay out here then. Bitter tarts. That makes Susanna laughs and they stay like that for a long time.
